The course will cover:

- The course is designed to supplement the textbook “Captives and Captive Management for Practitioners and Owners” by the late John Parkinson (published by Keyhaven). It is aimed at anyone with an interest in captive insurance – auditors, solicitors, managers, regulators, staff, risk managers, insurers, directors of owning companies etc.
- The course will give self-assessment questions for each chapter, as well as examination-style questions to help with the development of knowledge, and will be assessed by means of a report of 1,500-2,000 words and a two-hour examination (requiring short answers), all aimed at university level 2
- Trained university tutors will support all students via email and correspondence
- Examinations will be held every January, May and August in Guernsey (arranged by the GTA University Centre). Students choose their examination date, giving them flexibility in terms of the length of the course.
- The University will award Certificates to all successful candidates
Course Objectives
The course is believed to be the only one in this industry sector and will enable practitioners and interested parties to obtain a minimum level of knowledge in the area.
