Exam Centre

Our experienced examinations team works with many universities and professional institutions to run traditional and computer-based examinations throughout the year. We have a team of trained invigilators able to assist with a variety of examination requirements, as well as a selection of quiet rooms suitable for exam-taking. We welcome bookings in respect of any examination.

IMPORTANT* - We are aware that scam websites exist for booking English language tests. When booking a language test, please ensure you only use: https://www.languagecert.org/en or pop into the GTA and we will be happy to help you with the process.

Accredited Prometric Testing Centre

We are also the only accredited Prometric testing centre in Guernsey. Further information on booking your English speaking and listening (and/or reading and writing) exam(s) can be found here.

Accredited PSI Testing Centre

We are an accredited PSI testing centre and can offer a wide variety of exams, including CII, ISACA, IIBA, GARP, all of which can be booked directly through the specific organisation websites.

Life in the UK Test

The GTA is pleased to host the Life in the UK tests for immigration applications. To book your test please complete the booking form and return it to the GTA via email to: [email protected]

Eighteen questions in the test will be based on the content of the study manual “Life in the United Kingdom – A Guide for New Residents 3rd Edition (Published January 2017). A CD version is also available. This can be ordered from a local bookshop, an online book retailer, or direct from the UK Government’s Stationery Office (www.tsoshop.co.uk). Sample questions are only available on the UK Border Agency website and entering Life in the UK test sample questions.

A further six questions will be based on the Guernsey Supplement entitled “Life In The UK and Islands, Bailiwick of Guernsey Supplement – A Journey to Citizenship” (Version 7, published in November 2022) which will be sent to you with confirmation of your test.

You must bring along with you some photographic identification which must be a valid or recently expired passport or identity card from your country of origin. If you have recently married, and any of the aforementioned means of identification is in your maiden name, please also bring your marriage certificate. Please note that for the purpose of providing sufficient photographic evidence of identification, a driving licence will not be accepted.

If you are unsure as to what identification to show, please contact the GTA University Centre via telephone at 01481 224570, prior to your test date.

  • Many thanks to you, and all at GTA, for all the fantastic work you do, and for putting on so many courses for us, including the ones you’ve put on for charities over the recent years (which I’ve attended).  You are truly appreciated and must make a positive difference to many in Guernsey.
