Successful IoD leadership programme to run again in 2018

Following two successful programmes during 2017 we are pleased to say that the IoD Introductory Certificate in Board Readiness is now scheduled to run again in May 2018.

The programme was developed through a collaborative partnership between the GTA and the Institute of Directors to meet the needs of managers and leaders locally. The 3-day programme, which starts on 24 May 2018, will be delivered by experienced IoD tutors and local executive coach Chris Atkinson.

The programme is an ideal first step on the IoD qualification pathway. It is specifically tailored to managers or leaders who report to a board, but it is also suitable for anyone looking to develop their knowledge and practical skills in the following areas:

• Corporate governance
• Directors’ roles and responsibilities
• Board structure and purpose
• Financial reporting
• Accounting principles
• Strategy – defining, developing and implementing
• Leadership – culture, values and ethics
• Mindset – positive conflict, accountability, business change
• Goal-setting
