“There is currently no qualification specifically designed to give people coming into the fund administration in Guernsey directly relevant to what they do and I feel that it is important to provide such a qualification from an internationally recognised provider that is also relevant to the Guernsey fund environment. Such a qualification could also be used for people who have been working in other sectors such as fiduciary wanting to switch to fund administration or people coming back to work after having had time off.’
‘Implementing a Funds Administration qualification has been talked about for a long time and there have been various initiatives to try and get it off the ground. These have all floundered at the early stages, because it is a big piece of work bringing together a qualification that is internationally recognised and yet relevant to local industry regulations. While still a work in progress, this time the GTA has been able to successfully liaise with the various parties required to bring all the elements we have asked for into one qualification – which is the furthest we have ever been able to get.”
