Course Overview

Put ISO 9001 into context with this one-day online certified Foundation training course. Get a detailed overview of the quality management standard and learn the ‘what’ and ‘why’ of ISO 9001. You will learn how to adopt the quality management mindset, making it easier to map your processes and frame your ways of working in line with the ISO 9001:2015 standard. A QMS (quality management system) touches every functional area within an organisation. This course teaches you how to systematically prioritise quality and consistency in your line of work.

This online Foundation training course will provide you with a solid understanding of the ISO 9001 standard and will cover the following topics:

  • Quality management concepts and principles including risk-based thinking
  • Key components of a process for mapping purposes under ISO 9001
  • How quality systems have evolved over time
  • The leaders in the quality movement and their philosophies
  • The structure of the ISO 9001 standard
  • The harmonised structure defined by Annex SL and how it relates to an IMS (integrated management system)
  • Key requirements for documentation, internal audits and improving a QMS
  • How the process of certification works
  • The benefits of accredited certification and maintaining a QMS
