This 2 day course is designed to support experienced leaders and managers perform their leadership role with confidence, clarity and credibility. Being in a senior leadership role can be challenging, and without the right foundations, we can quickly feel overwhelmed.

This structured, supportive course equips delegates with the essential leadership mindset and core management skills, they need to thrive and deliver results through others.

The course consists of eight highly practical modules, split across two core themes:

  • Core Management principles

 Each day is interactive and grounded in real-world experience, beginning with a discussion of current challenges and concluding with clear, actionable takeaways delegates can apply immediately in the workplace. This ensures learning is relevant, reflective and embedded week by week.

The leadership modules focus on helping delegates understand what leadership really means, develop self-awareness and emotional intelligence, communicate with impact, and build high-performing, psychologically safe teams. The management modules then provide the practical tools needed to manage performance, delegate effectively, handle difficult conversations and lead teams confidently through change and uncertainty.

David Joel

David Joel is a professionally qualified, Chartered Director. He is a qualified physicist with 20 years in the defence engineering and technology sectors and 10 years in the services and facilities management sector mostly at board level. David’s experience covers public sector, private sector and regulated companies. He has undertaken many board effectiveness reviews and has worked with the Institute of Directors delivering the ‘Finance for non-Financial Directors’ programme and the ‘Leadership’ programme for the certificate in company direction and was a lead facilitator for the Diploma in Company Direction for the Institute of Directors.
