The GTA, part of The Guernsey Institute, is seeking an experienced, strategic-minded individual to join our Board as a Non-Executive Director (NED). This is a voluntary role offering the opportunity to contribute to the development of skills, knowledge, and learning that benefit individuals, organisations, and the wider economy.
About Us The GTA works in partnership with industry, government, and education providers to deliver high-quality professional learning opportunities in Guernsey. As a States of Guernsey owned not-for-profit organisation, we are committed to supporting the island’s development through accessible and relevant training and education.
The Role As a Non-Executive Director, you will:
· Support the strategic direction and governance of the organisation.
· Bring independent insight and oversight to our decision-making.
· Act as an ambassador for the GTA within the community and professional networks.
· Contribute to ensuring that GTA remains innovative, responsive, and aligned with local workforce and business needs.
Who We’re Looking For:
We welcome expressions of interest from individuals with a proven track record in industry who have previous board experience and an interest in education and economic development. Experience in one or more of the following areas would be especially valuable:
· Finance and risk management
· Legal or regulatory frameworks
· Business development or entrepreneurship
You will be a strategic thinker, collaborative, and comfortable providing constructive challenge and independent advice at Board level.
