Course Overview
Cyber Security risks are now firmly on the agenda of the Boardroom. Companies of any size can be attacked and face the risk of significant impacts. This session will explain the expectations now placed on Directors by their business partners and regulators and what questions to ask technical staff and suppliers.
Course Content
What will be covered in the session:
- The expectations in the recent wide-reaching UK Cyber Governance Code of Practice.
- The decisions that business leaders need to make and not have technical staff second guessing.
- How cybersecurity expectations should be defined for suppliers and business partners, and how their performance can be assured.
- Steps to take to prepare for a cyber incident and the role played by the business leaders during an incident.

This session will provide an introduction to Cyber Security management at board level and will help in understanding the scope of issues that this involves. It will help the delegates to identify what they need to discover more about, both inside their own companies and beyond.
Prerequisites
Although some technical topics will be touched upon these will be explained in risk and business terms , no technical knowledge is required.

Professor Paul Dorey CISM, FCIIS is a Guernseyman and Visiting Professor/Lecturer in Cyber Security at Royal Holloway College, University of London. In his career he has been Group Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Barclays, London Head of Information Security at Deutsche Bank Morgan Grenfell, Global CISO at both BP and GSK. He is active supporting businesses and governments in Cyber Security Strategy development and acts as an expert witness in civil and regulatory cases following cyber security breach.
