ODPA Innovation & Data Protection Series - Session 3 - Understanding & Managing the Risks

Course Overview

The final session of the ODPA Innovation & Data Protection Series | GTA will discuss the risks innovation can pose to personal data and how to tackle them. Using examples, this session is designed to help you navigate the most common risks to build robust and innovative products that can help you maximise your potential and increase trust in your organisation.

Please note that attendance can be in-person or virtual and booking the series of 3 sessions provides a discount of £25.

Edward Chapman

Edward joined the ODPA in July 2019 as an investigator. His main responsibilities as Senior Investigator include line management of the Investigations Team as well as investigating complaints and breaches, working with regulated entities to achieve compliance, and providing technical advice to members of public and the regulated community. Ed has achieved his PC dp qualification with PDP Training. Ed is originally from Cambridge, and prior to joining the ODPA he spent 10 years working for London’s Metropolitan Police within CID, burglary and robbery, forensic conversion and the public protection unit. The last 6 years of which he was ranked Detective Constable. He is a PIP Level 2 qualified investigator and is experienced in handling complex investigations.

Oliver Baxendale

Ollie joined the ODPA in November 2024 as an investigator, bringing with him extensive experience as a Data Protection Officer for the States of Guernsey and is CIPP/E qualified. In his role, Ollie engages with individuals and organisations in order to provide advice and guidance, as well as investigate complaints and breaches.
